From the A171 Middlesbrough - Whitby road.

Turn right at Lockwood Beck Reservoir to Castleton, then turn right towards Hutton-le-Hole, After 6 miles turn left at the sign to Rosedale Abbey, just after Ralph’s Cross on the right. After 4 miles, turn sharp right, signposted "Rosedale East Only". and follow the road for 3/4 mile. The Tree is on the left hand side just after the Old Chapel. There is a car park to the rear of the property.

 

From the A170 Thirsk - Scarborough road.

Take the A170 from Thirsk, passing through Helmsley and Kirbymoorside. 3 miles after Kirbymoorside turn left, signposted Rosedale. On arrival at Rosedale Abbey, continue straight through the village signposted to Castleton. After 1 mile you will pass Bell End Farm which is on your right hand side. Go up the hill round the 's' bend to where the road forks, and bear left, taking the road signposted "Rosedale East Only". Follow this for 3/4 mile going up the hill, eventually passing between two rows of terraced cottages. The  Tree is on the left hand side just after The Old Chapel. There is a car park to the rear of the property.

 

From the A64 Leeds - Scarborough road.

Leave the A64 at the A169 Whitby/Pickering turn-off. (Close to Eden Camp). Follow the A169 for 6 1/2 miles to Pickering. At the roundabout, (Forest & Vale Hotel on the left) turn left onto the A170 towards Thirsk. Continue for 2 miles, passing through the villages of Middleton and Aislaby. Take the next turning right signposted Rosedale (7 miles). On arrival at Rosedale Abbey, continue straight through the village signposted to Castleton. After 1 mile you will pass Bell End Farm which is on your right hand side. Go up the hill round the 's' bend to where the road forks, bear left taking the road signposted "Rosedale East Only". By Train, Bus, Taxi

​

The main railway station is in Malton (connections to York), 40 minutes away by car. Just over the road from the train station in Malton is the Bus Station and there is a Bus that goes to Pickering.

​

You could either get a Taxi direct from Malton (around £40) or catch a bus and then get a taxi from Pickering (around £20)

​

There is a bus from Pickering to Rosedale only once a week on a Monday.

​

There is a small railway station at Castleton Moor, which is 15 minutes away by taxi.
